SecPeers is a vendor-neutral community for people who run, build and buy IT and security. It is run by Omar Rezec. This page explains what we collect, why, who can see it, and how to have it removed. The short version: we use your details to run the community, and we never sell them or hand them to sponsors.
What we collect
- What you type into our forms. When you apply to join, sign up for the Tuesday Briefing, post a role, ask to host or sponsor a Peer Table, request an Inner Room invitation or contact us, we keep what you enter. That can include your name, work email, LinkedIn profile link, job title, company, company size, city or market, and any message you write.
- Job alert subscriptions. Your email address and the job filters you chose.
- How the site is used, in aggregate. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and form submissions. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't build a profile of you.
- Things stored only in your browser. Jobs you star are saved in your own browser (local storage). We never receive that list.
Why we use it
- To review membership applications and keep vendor sales and marketing staff out of the member community. This is why we ask for a work email and LinkedIn profile.
- To reply to you and send what you asked for: the Briefing, job alerts, Peer Table details or a sponsor guide.
- To plan dinners and events in your market.
- To see which pages and forms work, so we can improve the site.
Who can see it
- Sponsors never get member lists or guest lists. A sponsor hears from you only if you ask them to follow up.
- Other members don't see your LinkedIn link or email address.
- We don't sell, rent or trade personal data.
- We use a few service providers to run the site: Vercel (hosting, storage and analytics) and Resend (sending email). They process data on our behalf and only to provide their service.
- We may disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your details while you're a member, a subscriber or in an open conversation with us. If an application is declined, we keep it only as long as we need to handle a reapplication or a question about it. You can ask us to delete your details at any time.
Your choices
- Every job alert and Briefing email has a link to unsubscribe.
- To see, correct or delete what we hold about you, contact us and choose "My data or privacy". We'll confirm when it's done.
Links to other sites
News stories, events, jobs and pricing sources link to other websites. Their own privacy policies apply once you leave SecPeers.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For a significant change, we'll tell members by email.
